IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR TOURIST
PASSPORT & VISA
All travelers to India
need a current full
passport and it must be valid for six
months beyond your expected departure date
from your chosen country. Visas will
generally be necessary for the countries
you wish to visit and we can provide you
with the relevant details for your
specific tour.
CLIMATE
With such a large country there is a wide
variation in climate. Generally, monsoon
conditions apply right up to the Himalayan
foothills from June to September, with
local variations. On the Tibetan Plateau
conditions make visits possible during the
summer months. The south experiences
sub-tropical steamy conditions and during
the pre-monsoons, temperatures inland can
rise up to 50c and in Rajasthan desert
conditions apply. The period from
September to December and February to
April are the main tourist seasons for
general travel. Temperature are
moderate and rainfall significantly less.
In the hills and central India, December
to January nights can be quite cold,
though not generally as cold as in
Europe.
WATER – HEALTH
The safest answer to water problems is not
to drink any. However that does not meet
your needs in warm weather, when a lot is
required. Packaged drinking water is
available in most shops and is generally
safe for consumption. |
