Kerala
is situated on the south-west coast of
India, sandwitched between the
Lakshwadeep Sea and the western Ghats.
The country is full of rice fields,
mango and cashewnuts trees and above
all, coconut palms. Kerala is also an
important center for spices to stop
here. Its wide contact with the outside
world has given the malayalis (the
natives of Kerala) their
cosmopolitanism. This ia also the state
with the highest literacy rate.

PLACES OF INTEREST
Sabarimala : in Pathanamthittha is
the best known piligrimage destination in
Kerala. This holy shrine located high up
in the Sahyadri mountains is dedicated to
Lord Ayyappa and attracts piligrims from
all over India.
Sri Padmanabhaswamy Temple :
Located in the capital, Thiruvanathpuram,
it is dedicated to Padmanabha or Lord
Vishnu. According to legend, it was built
in stages to house an idol discovered in
the forest by a devotee.
Kovalam : is one of the most
popular beaches in India. Kovalam means a
grove of coconut trees and truly the
coconut trees along the beaches gives it a
ravishing look. The Palmfringed bays in
secluded coconut groves, promises a
relaxed stay. The boundless blue waters of
the Arabian Sea and miles of while sands
washed away by the surf at the feet of the
stalwart palms and the rocky promonotories
makes Kovalm a beach paradise.
Allapuzha : Earlier ther used to be
just one canal between the backwaters and
the sea. Pathiramanal, ‘the midnight
sands’, is a beautiful little island in
the Vembanad lake, accessible only by
boat. Ambalapuzha, the Krishna temple
here, 14 km away, is a fine example of the
state’s architectural style and is famed
for it’s ‘Payasam’.
Bekal Beach : Situated at the
northern tip of Kerala, Bekal is a beach
destination of the future. Bekal fort
standing between two long, classical
beautiful palm fringed beaches is nearby.
Its tall observation towers (huge cannon
emplacements belonging to the Kadampa
Dynasty), offers a panoramic view of the
Lakshadweep Sea. This is only one of the
largest forts of Kerala and had been under
the control of carious powers including
Vijayanagar, Tipu Sultan and the British.
Kollam : an old sea port town on
the Arabian coast, stands on the Asthamudi
Lake. With a commercial reputation from
the days of the Phoenicians and the
Romans, it is a typically small Keralan of
Kerala.
Kochi : The commercial capital of
Kerala and the most cosmopolitan. Located
strategically on the east-west route, it
is also Kerala’s major port. Fort Kochi,
Santa Cruz, the Dutch Palace, Jewish
synagogue and Bolaghatty Island are some
of its Landmarks.
Periyar Wildlife Santuary : lies 60
km away from Idukki, 190 km from Kochi.
The santuaryis the natural habitat of
elephants, deer, bison and wiuld boar. It
is also a tiger reserve. There are
opportunities for trekking, elephant rides
and boating.
Guruvayoor Temple : is one of the
most sacred piligrim centers of Kerala, 29
kms north-west of Thrissur. Its main
attraction is the Krishna Temple or the
Guruvayoorappan Temple.
Kozhikode : About 15 minutes drive
from the city center is a place called
‘Dolphin’s Point’ where one can see
dolphins playing in the sea, early in the
morning. The Beach is about 2 km from the
town center.
Vaikom : 40 km away from Kottayam,
is famed for the Shiva Temple, which
according to legend was built by
Parasurama the mythical creator of Kerala.
The 12 –day Asthami festival fall in
November/ December.
Idukki : Idukki situates at the top
of Western Ghats surrounded by mountains.
The Asia’s first and the world’s seciond
great arch dam is in Idukki. This arch dam
built across the Kuravan Kurathi mountain
is wonderful and beyond description.
Food: Most restaurants, coffee
shops, eateries or cafes offer a
cosmopolitan fare for chinese,
continental, Indian or American. You can
find many who specialize in Kerala
delicacies.
Communication: Kerala has a well
-knit communications network. with
telephone, fax and internet centers in
almost every corner. Enabling you to get
in touch with any part of the world
easily.
Travel Formalities: A visa is a
must to enter India. You can contact
Indian Embassy/ High Commission in your
country for the same. It is best to carry
your passport on you all the time. You may

Morning sight seeing tour of Mysore.

of the largest of its kind in India, the
Art Gallery, Brindavan gardens,Unique

DAY 05 : MYSORE/MUDHUMALAI
Morning drive towards Mudhumalai, a wild
life sanctuary. Overnight stay at the
Resort in Mudhumalai.
DAY 06 :
MUDHUMALAI
Spend the day exploring the surrounding
areas like the Moyar Waterfalls, Ombetta
swamp, Theppakadu Elephant camp, etc.

DAY 07 :
MUDHUMALAI/OOTY
Morning drive to Udhagamandalam (Ooty).
The beautiful hill station established by
the British in the early part of the 19th
century. A fine retreat from the heat of
the plains, Ooty offers scenic beauty and
relaxed ambience. Overnight stay at Ooty.
DAY 08 : OOTY/THRISSUR
Morning drive to Thrissur, known as the
cultural capital of Kerala and check in at
the Hotel.
DAY 09 : THRISUR
Morning depart to Cochin and Visit to the
Kerala Kalamandalam. Overnight stay at
Thrissur.
DAY 10 :
THRIUSSUR/COCHIN
Departure to Cochin. In the evening spend
your time enjoying the elaborate
preparations and enactment of Kathakali (A
traditional Keralan dance form depicting
episodes from the Indian puranas) and
Overnight at Cochin.
DAY 11 : COCHIN
Sightseeing of Cochin featuring the
following attractions. The Jewish
synagogue, Hebrew inscriptions on stone
slabs,. Overnight stay at Cochin.
DAY 12 : COCHIN/MUNNAR
Early morning you will make a drive
towards Munnar, to check in by lunchtime
at Munnar. Free at the resort.
DAY 13 : MUNNAR
Early morning departure to Rajamalai to
enjoy the serene atmosphere at the highest
peak of Kerala the Anamudi and to watch
the rarely seen species of Nilgiri Thars.
Return to hotel for breakfast. Sight
seeing trip to Mattupetty and rest of the
day free for shopping. Overnight at Munnar.
DAY 14 : MUNNAR/THEKKADY
After breakfast checkout and proceed by
road to Thekkady check-in at a hotel in
Thekkady. At leisure in the afternoon.
Ovenight at Hotel.
DAY 15 : PERIYAR
Early morning boating at the Periyar Wild
life sanctuary. After Elephant ride,
proceed to Kumarakom en route visiting the
Kottayam "Valiappalli" and "Cheriyappalli"
two churches, which are around 400 years
old. Stay at Kumarakom.
DAY 16 :
KUMARAKOM
Here you will be board on the Houseboat.
Enjoy the cruise from Kumarakom to
Alumkadavu (near Quilon), in a journey
that takes 2 nights and 3 days. The cruise
takes you through narrow canals with
bustling village life on either side, the
main occupation of the people is fishing
or farming.
DAY 17 : ON BOAT
Houseboat journey, Overnight stay in the
Houseboat.
DAY 18 : BOAT/KOVALAM
Check out of the Houseboat in the evening
and proceed to Kovalam Beach Resort and
check in at a resort. Overnight at the
resort.
DAY 19 : KOVALAM
Today you will be free for Leisure.
Overnight at the resort.
DAY 20 : KOVALAM/TRIVANDRUM
You can either continue staying at the
resort at your expense or check in to a
resort at Kovalam or a hotel in Trivandrum
or transfer to the Trivandrum Airport, for
which you will be given the best
