shape so it often called the lotus
temple.

Narayan Temple
This temple was build by G.D. Birla in
1938. This beautiful temple is located
in the west of Connaught Place. The
temple is dedicated to the Goddess of
prosperity and good fortune . The
temple has well grafted gardens . It
is also known as the Birla Mandir.
BIRLA MANDIR

in the court of Mughal Emperor
Aurangzeb now enjoys the status of a
holy shrine called Gurdwara bangla
Sahib.
SISGUNJ
GURUDWARA
Near the Police Station of Chandni Chowk,
the beautiful golden domes of the
Gurudwara Sisgunj immediately stike
your eye. It commemorates the site of
the ninth guru of the Sikhs, Guru Teg
Bahadur’s martyrdom. The Guru was
beheaded by Aurangzeb 1675.
ISKCON TEMPLE
Completed in 1998, this is a complex
of temples. Built on a hilly place
this temple is dedicated to the Lord
Krishna and was built by the Hare-Rama
hare-Krishna cult followers . This
complex is elegantly built and is one
of the largest temple complexes in
India.
St. James Church
Located very close to Kashmere Gate in north Delhi, St. James Church is the oldest church in the capital. It was built by James Skinner and consecrated in 1836.
It is built in the Western classical design with a Greek cross plan. Three of the arms of the cross have porticoes, while the eastern arm contains the altar. The central areas is covered by a magnificent dome. This church is open only on Sundays.
Aurobindo Ashram
This ashram at Aurobindo Marg, is a centre for yoga and meditation. The main ashram is at Pondicherry. Products like handmade paper, incense sticks, etc. are available here.
